Things to do with your dog in and around Weymouth 

This is a list of all the places we have taken our dogs to and happy tor recomend

The mash and barrel restaurant on park has a section where you can eat with your dogs, can sit inside or out.

The garden centre in Lynch lane ( the road that leads up to the park) also does drinks and food as well as normal garden centre products. Has a special conservatory that allows dogs into with well behaved owners or you can sit outside.

The Fat Badger restaurant at Pebble bank caravan park in Camp Road ( also if you go to the end of the road there is a big field to take your dogs to. you can also walk this from Littlesea) 

The Admiral Hardy pub, does special nights, eg curry night, games night, Sunday lunch etc

The Marquis of Granby.  Pub/ restaurant , booking is recommended on the Chickerell road. Has a section that allows dogs.

The white Hart pub/ restaurant in town opposite The Range in town. 

The Palm house , has a childrens play area, does snacks, lunches and lovely pancakes and waffles this is found in the car park just over the bridge into town.  Can eat inside or out.

Abbotsbury tropical gardens : allows dogs to walk around the gardens , dogs must be on a short lead, also has a restaurant that you can use without going into the gardens. 

Craigs Farm Dairy : Lovely cream teas, sandwiches etc, can eat inside or out. Its on the road towards Osmington. 

The Blue Pool : allows dogs to walk around the grounds on leads, we used extension leads for a bit more freedom. Restaurant can eat inside or out. Good for a sunny dog as a large part is forest like so under the cover of trees. 

The Jailhouse cafe : HMP The Verne on Portland, can eat inside or out, lovely views as quite high up

Bridport / West bay: The corner cafe ( or cafe on the corner) you;ll no it when you see it. Allows dogs while you eat, does full meals or snacks. Can walk along the beach and then have a break with a drink/ food we spent a good few hours exploring here. Plus small harbour with ice creams sellers etc

Cogden nature reserve on the way towards Bridport.

RSPB Radipole Lake nature reserve , walk from the carpark opposite MacDonalds/ Matalan car park

RSPB Lodmoor nature reserve : next do the sealife centre. 

Lodmoor country park : Rio Grande Railway, doing rides for children, Tree trail, childrens green gym, Green gym for all ages, 21 pieces of equipment. Also has the sealife centre and pirates crazy golf but they are not dog friendly i think. ( squirrels can be found here so beware if you dog likes to chase them) outdoor cafe, picnic tables, toilet facilities. 

Nothe Fort and gardens is another lovely walk, you can use the cafe in the fort without having to pay to look around it. Dogs are welcome, nice food. Can be lots of squirrels so beware if you dog likes to chase them. 

Teddy Bear woods is another walk we have only tried once over by Bowleaze cove. Very muddy when we went. 

Bowleaze cove beach is dog friendly all year round. Has ice creams, food, beach shop, drinks, small children's rides at Fantasy Island. 

The Rodwell Trail : walk down what used to be a railway track ( now a nice smooth path) suitable for all)  starts off near the town and ends up just before the causeway to Portland, if you go about half way there is the Sandsfoot castle ( remains, ) the gardens here are very well kept and lovely views over towards Portland. There is an open air cafe in the gardens where you can stop and gets snacks and drinks ( makes a nice half way sit down) when you get to the Portland end there is a nice little bay with sand and dogs/ people can have a paddle ( or swim )

Sandworld  also allows dogs but we have not been. Near the sealife centre.
